![]() The silicone adds some slip protection, but it also adds size to keep it from falling between cushions, and it doesn't feel as tiny in my hands. However, the remote went missing for weeks, so I ordered a bright highlighter yellow remote case when I found it. I too had issues with the remote because I have bigger hands, and the remote falls off everything and between every couch cushion, and the buttons were too easy to push by accident, but I lived with it because it worked so well for what I needed. Would you be willing to hear a recommendation for keeping the remote? If anyone has a replacement suggestion I would love to take a look at it. Along with that, all the options for remotes I find on amazon that say they will work, but seem like they will control only the Chromecast, and not the power/volume functions of the TV and Receiver while having a bunch of extra buttons that you can't program to use anyway. I would still use it if I could, but being Xfinity/Comcast there is no way to get it paired to anything besides the Flex box which was replaced by the Chromecast. While that may sound like a lot to ask, the remote that came free with my Xfinity Flex / Xfinity service did all of that with zero issues while having a much more sane layout and premium button feel. Control my Sony receiver power and volume that my speakers are connected to, and of course control the Chromecast. It needs to be able to power on and off my Samsung TV. I am looking for an alternative remote that will work with the Chromecast with Google TV. This causes me to go to the home screen, pause and seek videos, and randomly open things while trying to watch videos. Along with that, all the buttons on the remote are way too easy to press and do get pressed on accident, even just gently setting the remote down. Putting the buttons on the side and bottom for the sake of being unique was a big mistake. The three buttons I use almost every time. Pressing the power, source, and volume buttons is an annoyance for me. I have decent size hands and the remote is too small. That being said, the remote is absolutely terrible. Love the functionality and the OS and have been loving the option of SmartTube to finally get rid of those pesky YouTube ads, as watching on the TV was the only way they they were still shoving ads down my throat. I couldn’t find it, so I asked and they brought one out of the stock room for me.Recently got a Chromecast with Google TV. If anyone cares, the Walmart site said they were in stock in my local store, so I dropped by to pick one up. Hopefully it won’t take them long to get that sorted out. I also had a few problems getting it to control my TV, but I was able to fix that by deleting the settings that it put in during initial setup, re-adding, and switching to IR. I didn’t try the app buttons with Button Mapper, but they weren’t functional on the TS4k out of the gate.įrom my experience with the Onn device, I don’t think it is quite ready for prime time due to volume issues. The settings button couldn’t be picked up by button mapper and it didn’t work on the TS4k. ![]() The Bookmark button is recognized as 174 (Bookmark). ![]() On the Onn device, the button brings up a screen wanting you to install YTTV (Button Mapper doesn’t override this behavior). The TV button is actually the same as the TS4k Guide button and the and recognized by Button Mapper as 172 (Guide). I will double check tonight, but I can’t test the two together.Īll, I paired the remote with my TS4k and it worked fine (probably can’t program the TV IR stuff though). I think there is an option for sound bar as well. Tom, I have one and it supports TV power. ![]()
